Professional Sunroom Installation vs. DIY Sunroom Kit

Why Creative Enclosures is the best choice for your sunroom addition

Creative Enclosures came up with a design for my 3 season room that matched the character of my 100 year old American Four-Square so perfectly you would think it was always there.

With so many do-it-yourself videos and tutorials available on the internet, homeowners have become more confident in their abilities to take on home improvement projects themselves with a DIY sunroom kit. Now more than ever, people are trying their hand at projects that were previously only completed by professionals. One such home improvement project that is certain to add value to your home, is the addition of a sunroom. Some homeowners may be comfortable tackling a project like this, while others would prefer to hire experienced professionals to handle the job. So which option is best for you? Read on to find out.

DIY Sunroom

Are you a DIY enthusiast? Do you love to challenge yourself with home improvement projects? Then you may be considering adding a sunroom and tackling the project yourself with a sunroom kit. If you think you have the skills necessary to build your own, there are a few options available to you.

Sunroom Kit

There are sunroom kits available to purchase that will allow you to build a sunroom on an existing deck or patio. These kits come with everything you need to build a DIY sunroom. They are available with a few options- like size, a sloped roof or gable roof, and some different glass options. But most are standard aluminum framing with stationary wall panels. Although this makes it easier for a do-it-yourselfer to install the sunroom, it lacks the personalization of a custom sunroom addition.

Walls Only Sunroom Kit

If you already have an existing roof over your deck or patio, there are walls only sunroom kits that allow you to turn an existing structure into a sunroom. These kits do let you customize your wall height and width, but again, you are limited in your choices, and this (like the previous option) will only work with an existing deck or patio.

Sunroom from Building Plan

If you are an experienced carpenter, building a sunroom from a design plan might be an option for you. There are resources available where you can purchase detailed construction plans and drawings. However, this option will only work if you are an experienced builder. With this option you are also limited to a pre-designed plan, which could lack the character you’re after.

Whether you’re looking for a place to drink your morning coffee, or a place to sit and enjoy nature, sunrooms make a great addition to your home. Although you may be considering a DIY sunroom kit and tackling the project yourself, you may find that your options are limited. Creative Enclosures ensures that whatever you can dream up for your sunroom addition, we can make a reality.  Contact us today!
